California FTB Issues Income Tax Information on Third-Party Payments

The California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) Jan. 23 issued guidance on third-party payments, for individual income, corporate income, and trust income tax purposes. A third-party should send only one payment, but have it applied to all wage garnishments and tax levies by allowing the FTB to debit a taxpayer’s account for the amount submitted. The application allows for a single payment to be applied to multiple taxpayers.
