California FTB Issues Notice on Personal Information Privacy of Taxpayers

The California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) March 1 issued a notice related to the personal information privacy of taxpayers. The notice provides that: 1) taxpayers have rights to view records containing their personal information; 2) taxpayers are mandatorily required to furnish information requested by the FTB; 3) the FTB may disclose the information to third parties to resolve delinquent debts; and 4) the Director of the Statewide Collection Bureau maintains records for court-ordered debt collections.
