The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery adopted emergency regulations establishing new electronic waste recycling fees. The amended emergency regulations set new covered battery-embedded waste recycling fee for covered electronic devices based on screen size, ranging from $4 to $6. The amended rules also set a covered battery-embedded waste recycling fee at 1.5 percent of the retail sales price with a cap of $15, to be paid by retailers.
