Taxpayer confidentiality isn’t a valid reason for California cities and counties to avoid reporting what they give to retailers each year through sales tax revenue-sharing agreements under a new state law, tax department officials said Monday.
The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration will provide an online form for all cities and counties to report whether they have sharing agreements and, if so, how much they are giving to the companies in time for the first reporting deadline of April 30, 2025.
