Cardozo Law Professor Wants NY Income Tax on Remote Work Nixed

The full New York Tax Appeals Tribunal should overrule a decision that the state properly taxed the income of a Cardozo Law School professor when he worked from home in Connecticut during the pandemic, the professor argued in a notice of appeal.

New York Division of Tax Appeals Administrative Law Judge Jessica DiFiore ruled that Edward Zelinsky shouldn’t be granted “special tax benefits” for working in a different state when New York was on lock-down due to the pandemic.
