Chicago Must Turn Over Apple Tax Bill Calculated Before Deal

Chicago must disclose the amount of tax on streaming that it waived for Apple Inc. under a settlement, after a state court granted Bloomberg Industry Group Inc.'s information request.

None of the exceptions to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act cited by the Chicago Department of Finance apply to the city’s estimate of how much it believed Apple owed over five years, Illinois Circuit Court Judge David B. Atkins ruled in an order filed April 18.
