Frances Henn, director of New York City’s Office of Administrative Tax Appeals, will retire next week, she announced Thursday.
The office comprises the city Tax Commission and Tax Appeals Tribunal, both of which Henn also leads in her capacity as director.
Henn said she will appoint Neil Schaier, a commissioner of the city’s Tax Appeals Tribunal, as the office’s acting director until a permanent replacement is named by Mayor Eric Adams (D) and the City Council. A spokesperson for the mayor’s office didn’t immediately return a request for comment. Henn’s last day is Feb. 1.
