The Colorado Governor April 19 signed a law amending requirements related to sales and use tax simplification. The bill provides that vendors who properly use and reasonably rely on information in the state’s Geographic Information System (GIS) database for tax rates and local taxing jurisdictions will be held harmless for any errors that result from the use of the GIS data. The bill takes effect immediately. [S.B. 24-023, enacted 04/19/24]
