Colorado Governor Signs Property, Excise Tax Law on Vehicle Registration, Certificate of Title

The Colorado Governor June 8 signed a law on vehicle registration and certificate of title for property and excise tax purposes. The law includes measures: 1) allowing the Department of Revenue to register a vehicle for less than a year upon the payment of the appropriate registration fees, surcharges, and specific ownership tax; 2) setting the late registration fees at $10 for trailer coaches and putting them in the same rate as campers and multipurpose trailers; 3) setting the road safety surcharge at $16 for trailer coach owners; and 4) setting the bridge safety surcharge at $13.
