Colorado Lawmakers Eye Adjustments to Retail Delivery Fee

Colorado’s new and unique fee on retail deliveries appears headed for an overhaul in 2023, raising hopes that lawmakers will ease the significant hassle factor the charge creates for sellers and online marketplaces.

Gov. Jared Polis (D) is interested in an exemption for small businesses and retailers that make very few home deliveries. At the same time, a legislative task force is studying ways to ease compliance for merchants without cutting into the revenue Colorado aims to use for maintaining and expanding its transportation infrastructure.
