Competing Minnesota Tax Bills Head to Conference Committee

Minnesota lawmakers are headed into a conference committee to iron out differences in competing omnibus tax bills approved in the House and Senate.

The House has passed a measure with more complex and controversial menu of tax policy changes, including a first-in-the-nation plan for disclosing the taxes paid by large corporations. The Senate has presented a tamer bill that would speed up payments of the state’s $1,750 child tax credit, enacted last year.
