Connecticut Revenue Department Announces Increased Sales Tax Rate on Meals, Revocation of Policy Statement 2019(5)

The Connecticut Department of Revenue Services Sept. 19 announced an increase in sales and use tax rate on meals and the revocation of Policy Statement 2019(5). The tax rate for sales of meals and certain drinks is increased to 7.35 percent from 6.35 percent, effective Oct. 1. This announcement revokes the Policy Statement 2019(5), which may not be relied upon on or after the date of issuance of this announcement. [Conn.
