The Connecticut Department of Revenue Services July 20 issued a special notice announcing legislative changes affecting excise and sales and use taxes. The notice provides information on sales occurring on and after July 1, including that: 1) charges for admissions to most places of amusement, entertainment, or recreation are no longer subject to admissions tax; 2) charges for admission to motion picture shows remain taxable at a 6 percent rate where the charge is more than $5.00; 3) sales of breast pumps and certain related parts, supplies, kits, and repair services are exempt from sales tax; 4), cannabis sold for ...
