The Connecticut Department of Revenue Services (DRS) Jan. 11 issued information on attorney occupational tax returns for excise tax purposes. The DRS provides: 1) individuals admitted to practice law in Connecticut in calendar year 2020 must electronically file Form 472, Attorney Occupational Tax Return, on or before Jan. 15, 2021, even if they’re exempt; 2) non-exempt taxpayers must pay $565 on or before Jan. 15; 3) failure to comply results in penalty and interest charges; and 4) taxpayers can become bulk filers and upload a spreadsheet with attorney information, if they’re filing for multiple attorneys.
