Connecticut Tax Fairness, Tax Gap Report Due Out by Month’s End

Connecticut officials will release a report by the end of the month that analyzes the state’s tax fairness, John Biello, deputy commissioner of the state’s Department of Revenue Services, said Tuesday.

Under the state’s 2024-25 biennial budget, the department is required to issue comprehensive reports every two years that analyze the revenue system. Other states have put together similar examinations of their tax codes, but Connecticut is the first to require a continuous analysis of the equity of its tax system.
