Delaware Is 22nd State to Legalize Marijuana, Creates 15% Tax

Delaware will levy a 15% sales tax on marijuana after state lawmakers approved bills legalizing possession and creating a tax and regulatory framework.

The measures, HB 1 and HB 2, became law following Gov. John Carney’s decision not to sign or veto them. The Democratic governor, who vetoed legalization legislation last year, said he’s in favor of medical marijuana and decriminalization policies but still doesn’t support legalizing recreational marijuana.
