District of Columbia Council Enacts Temporary Law Decoupling Certain Income, Franchise Tax Provisions From I.R.C.

The District of Columbia Council enacted a law that includes amending, on a temporary basis, certain provisions of the income and franchise tax law so they no longer conform to corresponding provisions of the Internal Revenue Code (I.R.C). The law takes effect following a 30-day period of congressional review and publication in the District of Columbia Register. The law expires 225 days after taking effect.
