The Florida Department of Revenue (DOR) Nov. 1 announced requirements for payment of estimated sales tax. Business owners who paid $200,000 or more in state sales tax (excluding local option taxes and surtaxes) during the preceding state fiscal year must pay estimated sales tax. The DOR stated that beginning with the December sales tax return, businesses who meet the threshold level must pay estimated tax for each reporting period, with the first payment due Jan. 1, 2019.
