The Florida Department of Revenue (DOR) announced that effective Jan. 1, 2026, the total state sales and use tax rate for Martin County will be reduced to 6.5 percent from 7 percent, due to the 0.5 percent school capital outlay surtax expiry on Dec. 31. The 6.5 percent sales and use tax is composed of the state’s 6 percent sales and use tax rate and the 0.5 percent local government infrastructure surtax. [Fla. Dep’t of Revenue, TIP Number: 25A01-14, 12/01/25]
