Florida DOR Announces Martin County’s Sales, Use Tax Rate Reduction

The Florida Department of Revenue (DOR) announced that effective Jan. 1, 2026, the total state sales and use tax rate for Martin County will be reduced to 6.5 percent from 7 percent, due to the 0.5 percent school capital outlay surtax expiry on Dec. 31. The 6.5 percent sales and use tax is composed of the state’s 6 percent sales and use tax rate and the 0.5 percent local government infrastructure surtax. [Fla.
