The Florida Department of Revenue (DOR) announced that effective Jan. 1, 2026, the total state sales and use tax rate for Palm Beach County will be reduced to 6.5 percent from 7 percent. The reduced rate results from the repeal of the 1 percent infrastructure tax effective Dec. 31, and the approval of the 0.5 percent school capital outlay surtax effective Jan. 1, 2025.
