Florida DOR Issues County Discretionary Sales Surtax Rate Information for 2024

The Florida Department of Revenue (DOR) Nov. 1 issued discretionary sales surtax information for calendar year 2024 for sales and use tax purposes. The DOR lists the total county surtax rates with effective and expiration dates for all counties. The DOR highlights counties with more than one surtax as well as new, revised, extended, or expiring surtaxes. Changes include: 1) the current 1 percent local government infrastructure surtax in Collier County is repealed effective Dec. 31; and 2) the current 1 percent surtaxes for Marion County and Seminole County will expire Dec. 31, 2024.
