Florida DOR Issues Motor Fuel Tax Relief Act FAQs for Local Governments, Mass Transit Systems

The Florida Department of Revenue (DOR) Sept. 1 issued Florida Motor Fuel Tax Relief Act of 2022 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for Local Governments and Mass Transit System Providers, for excise tax purposes. The FAQs provide that: 1) the tax rate on motor fuel will be reduced by 25.3 cents per gallon from Oct. 1 until Oct. 31; 2) the reduced tax rate applies to all gasoline products, any product blended with gasoline, or any fuel placed in the storage supply tank of a gasoline-powered motor vehicle; 3) the tax rate reduction doesn’t apply to products defined as diesel fuel, ...
