Florida DOR Proposes Amended Rules on Protests of Proposed Assessments from Audits

The Florida Department of Revenue (DOR) published a notice of development of rulemaking proposing draft amendments to Rule 12-6.003 concerning protests of notices of proposed assessments resulting from DOR audits. The draft amendments: 1) remove the term “Assessment” in the rule when referring to a Notice of Proposed Assessment; and 2) clarify when a proposed assessment becomes a final assessment where a written protest is filed with the DOR.
