The Florida Department of Revenue June 19 published information on the sales and use tax exemption for firearm safety devices, effective July 1. The exempted firearm safety devices include: 1) firearm safes, firearm lockboxes, firearm cases, or other devices designed to be used to store firearms and to be unlocked only by means of a key, a combination, or other similar means; and 2) firearm trigger locks or firearm cable locks that, when installed on a firearm, are designed to prevent the firearm from being operated without first deactivating the device by unlocking it only by means of a key, ...
