Florida on Monday joined the ranks of states that tax electronic commerce and other forms of remote sales.
Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) signed a bill (S.B. 50) requiring out-of-state sellers to collect and remit the state’s 6% sales tax effective July 1. The bill’s passage means Missouri is the only outlier of the 45 sales tax states without a collect-and-remit requirement for remote vendors.
