Florida senators approved on Friday a bill that gives Republican Governor
- Senators passed the legislation with 26 votes to 9
- The bill passed the Florida House of Representative on Thursday
- The legislation will now be brought to DeSantis for his signature
- New rules will give the governor power to appoint the five-member board of supervisors that runs the district, which will be renamed “Central Florida Tourism Oversight District.”
- Lawmakers will also have to approve the appointees
