Florida Taxpayers Move Fight Over Disney Law to State Court

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s clash with Walt Disney Co. over the state’s restriction on LGBTQ issues being taught in schools could end up costing Florida taxpayers $1 billion to $2 billion, a group of residents said in a revised lawsuit.

The residents are moving their fight with DeSantis to state court from federal court and revised several of the claims, attorney William Sanchez said Tuesday in a statement. The first suit, which largely focused on Disney’s constitutional right to free speech, was dismissed one week after it was filed.
