Florida’s Orange County Hotel Taxes Rose 11% for Record July

Sept. 5, 2025, 2:28 PM UTC

Florida’s Orange County, home to theme parks from Walt Disney Co. and Comcast Corp.’s Universal, said hotel taxes rose 11.1% to $29.6 million in July.

  • “July 2025 delivered the strongest July collections on record,” Orange County Comptroller Phil Diamond said in a statement. “Summer performance continued to heat up.”
  • Comcast’s $7 billion Epic Universe theme park opened in Orlando in late May.
  • Hotel occupancy and room rates rose in Orange County. The results contrast with Las Vegas, which saw those measures decline, along with overall tourist visits, in July.
