Georgia Authorizes Pooler Occupancy Excise Tax

The Georgia Governor signed a law that includes: 1) authorizing the City of Pooler to levy an occupancy excise tax on rooms, lodgings, and accommodations; and 2) capping the excise tax rate at 6 percent. The law took effect on May 12. [H.B. 1404, enacted 05/12/26]
