The Georgia Department of Revenue Dec. 12, 2022 issued an updated informational bulletin regarding the suspension of state motor fuel taxes. On March 18, 2022, the governor signed H.B. 304, suspending the collection of motor fuel excise tax from March 18, 2022, through May 31, 2022. The suspension period was extended to Dec. 11, 2022, and then to Jan. 10, 2023, by executive orders from the governor. The suspension doesn’t apply to any local sales and use taxes.
