Georgia DOR Suspends Motor Fuel Excise Taxes Amid Rising Prices

The Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR) announced that the Georgia Governor issued an executive order declaring a state of emergency and suspending the collection of motor fuel excise taxes in response to rising fuel prices. The suspension begins May 20 and runs through June 2 and applies to all fuels subject to Georgia motor fuel excise tax, including gasoline, clear diesel, aviation gasoline, liquid propane gas, gasohol, ethanol, liquefied natural gas, and compressed natural gas.
