Georgia Enacts Law Amending Homestead Exemption for Chattooga County School District Senior Residents

The Georgia Governor signed a law to amend the Chattooga County School District homestead exemption for residents 70 years of age or older. The law includes increasing: 1) the income eligibility cap from $20,000 to $38,000; 2) the exemption value from $40,000, to $41,150, in 2027; and 3) the exemption value to $55,000 in 2028 and beyond.
