The Georgia Governor signed a law amending Title 48 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, to expand the definition of tourism product development to include military museums, establish criteria for changing tourism promotion organizations, and require quarterly meetings of the Hotel Motel Tax Performance Review Board. The law includes providing new compliance procedures for local governments receiving hotel-motel tax funds, including mandatory publication of noncompliance notifications and potential tax termination for failure to take remedial action. The law takes effect July 1. [S.B. 430, enacted 05/11/26]
