The Georgia Governor signed a law providing a homestead tax exemption from Chatham County School District ad valorem property taxes. The law includes: 1) definitions; 2) clarifying the terms and conditions of the exemption and related procedures; and 3) clarifying the eligibility for the exemption. [H.B. 1203, enacted 05/11/26]
