Georgia’s motor fuel excise tax freeze will be extended through July 14 after Gov.
Kemp, a Republican, extended gas tax relief to Georgia taxpayers ahead of Memorial Day weekend to address supply chain issues and rising gasoline costs. The governor also signed an executive order to renew the State of Emergency for supply chain disruptions through July 14.
The state’s 29.1 cents per gallon excise tax on gasoline was suspended after Kemp signed HB 304, but was set to expire on May 31.
