Georgia Governor Signs Law Making Changes to Property Tax Bills, Assessment Notices

The Georgia Governor signed a law concerning taxation. The law includes: 1) amending provisions concerning contents of property tax bills; 2) providing for the contents of annual notices of property tax assessments; 3) revising a state-wide base year homestead exemption; 4) providing for requirements for calculating and certifying estimated roll-back rates; and 5) providing for the maximum amount of local sales and use taxes that may be imposed.
