Georgia Provides Ware County Homestead Exemption, Subject to Voter Approval

The Georgia Governor signed a law that includes: 1) providing for a homestead exemption from Ware County school district ad valorem taxes for educational purposes in the amount of the full assessed value of the homestead for residents of the school district who are 75 years of age or older; 2) providing that the exemption is subject to Ware County school district voter approval in the November election; and 3) providing that the exemption is effective on Jan. 1, 2027 if approved by the voters.
