Georgia Voters to Weigh In on Setting Up Judicial Tax Court

Georgia voters will be asked in November to form a dedicated tax court, permitting the state to shift tax disputes from the Georgia Tax Tribunal to the new independent judicial body.

The state legislature approved a resolution, HR 598, calling for a vote Nov. 5 on a constitutional amendment forming the Georgia Tax Court. Lawmakers also approved separate legislation, HB 1267, formalizing the purpose, structure, and governing principles for the proposed court.
