Hawaii Gov. Josh Green said he supports a final measure increasing tax credits for low-income residents but will continue his push for broad tax relief provisions lawmakers deleted from the bill.
The state Legislature sent the Democratic governor the bill (H.B. 954) Wednesday, doubling the maximum earned income tax credit to 40% of the federal credit, doubling the food excise tax credit, and increasing the child and dependent care tax credit. They adjourned for the year Thursday. Green has until July 11 to sign the bill.
