The Hawaii Department of Taxation (DoTax) Dec. 22 announced the mandatory electronic filing of employer’s withholding tax returns. Employers whose withholding tax liability exceeds $40,000 annually must electronically file their withholding tax returns, and employers with 10 or more returns must electronically file their federal returns. This is effective for returns required to be filed after Dec. 31, and any person who files their federal returns electronically may also be required to file their state returns electronically. [Haw.
