Hawaii Tax Department Extends Filing, Payment Deadline for Storm-Affected Counties

The Hawaii Department of Taxation announced that the IRS has granted a federal tax deadline extension for Hawaii residents and businesses affected by severe storms, flooding, and mudslides that began on March 10. Taxpayers in the federally declared disaster areas of Hawaii, Honolulu, Kauai, and Maui counties have until July 8 to file federal tax returns and make tax payments that were originally due on or after March 10, while state tax filing and payment deadlines have been extended to July 20.
