The Idaho State Tax Commission issued a press release announcing that taxpayers who cannot file their 2024 Idaho income tax return by the April 15 deadline can get an automatic six-month extension until October 15 by paying at least 80 percent of their estimated 2024 tax liability or 100 percent of their 2023 tax liability by April 15. The extension allows taxpayers to avoid a late filing penalty but interest will accrue on any unpaid balance after April 15. [Idaho State Tax Comm’n, Press Release, 04/11/25]
