Illinois DOR Adopts Amendment to Municipal Motor Fuel Tax Rule

The Illinois Department of Revenue (DOR) Aug. 22 adopted an amendment to the municipal motor fuel tax rule. The regulation imposes a $1,000-per-month cap on the discount retailers may claim when remitting municipal motor fuel tax as reimbursement for the expenses incurred in keeping records, preparing and filing returns, remitting the tax, and supplying data to the Department on request.
