The Illinois Department of Revenue (DOR) Sept. 19 released an informational bulletin announcing changes to the prepaid wireless E911 surcharge rate in the city of Chicago, effective Nov. 1. The bulletin informs retailers and service persons filing Form ST-1, sales and use tax and E911 surcharge return, that the prepaid wireless E911 surcharge rate will increase from to 9 percent from zero percent.
