The Illinois Department of Revenue (DOR) Sept. 1 issued guidance on obtaining an eight-digit IL-PIN to electronically file Form IL-1040, Individual Income Tax Return. The DOR provides that the IL-PIN is assigned only to those taxpayers who have previously filed an income tax return with the state. The IL-PIN can be obtained by using “IL-PIN Inquiry” in MyTax Illinois or calling on the given phone number.
