Illinois DOR Issues Informational Bulletin on Changes to Motor Fuel Tax Rates Effective July 1

The Illinois Department of Revenue (DOR) issued an informational bulletin announcing changes to the Motor Fuel Tax rates effective July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. The tax rates per gallon for various fuel types will increase by 2.82 percent, which aligns with the Consumer Price Index. The bulletin includes the following rates: 1) 55.8 per gallon on diesel; 2) 48.3 per gallon on gasoline; 3) 55.8 per DGE on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG); 4) 55.8 per DGE on liquefied natural gas (LNG); and 5) 48.3 per GGE on compressed natural gas (CNG).
