Illinois DOR Publishes Informational Bulletin on Sales Tax Rates Changes for Aviation Fuel

The Illinois Department of Revenue (DOR) published an informational bulletin regarding changes to sales tax rates for aviation fuel in certain taxing jurisdictions effective July 1. The bulletin provides the combined tax rates that will be in effect until June 30, as well as the new rates that will start on July 1 for specific localities. Retailers are advised to update their systems to collect the new tax rates, effective July 1, and to report any previous sales that were subject to different rates separately on their tax returns.
