Illinois DOR Releases Form EAR-14, Format for Filing a Protest for Income Tax

The Illinois Department of Revenue April 1 released Form EAR-14, Format for Filing a Protest for Income Tax, for individual income, corporate income, and trust income tax purposes. Taxpayers should use the form to file an official protest and request an administrative hearing in response to any Notice of Deficiency or Notice of Claim Denial of a claim for refund of state income tax. The form includes steps for: 1) taxpayer information; 2) information required for protest; and 3) execution and certificate of taxpayer or taxpayer’s representative.
