Illinois hopes to attract electric vehicle and battery manufacturers to the Land of Lincoln under expansive tax incentive legislation that streaked through the General Assembly during the waning hours of the fall legislative session.
The Illinois House passed the Reimagining Electric Vehicles Act (H.B. 1769) Wednesday and the Senate followed late Thursday by near unanimous majorities. The bill now heads to Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D), who is expected to sign the measure quickly after pushing for passage during the brief session.
