Illinois to Extend Fast-Track Audit Program to Income Taxes

The Illinois Department of Revenue will accept income tax disputes into its unique audit Fast Track Resolution initiative by the end of the year, after cutting its backlog of sales tax audits under the fledgling program.

The one-year-old fast track program, also known as the FTR, is currently structured to settle disputes involving sales taxes, non-motor fuel excise taxes, and miscellaneous taxes applicable to automobile rentals and lodging.
